It is with tremendous sadness that we pay tribute in this issue to the memory of our colleague Mireille Rached who passed away on 3 December 2017 in Beirut.

Mireille acted, from June 2014 to May 2017, as the representative of the ICC YAF (Young Arbitrators Forum) Regional Coordinating Committee for Africa, Middle East and Turkey. She actively promoted arbitration culture to the Arab world, providing ICC with her continued and longstanding support.

Mireille was also an active member of the ICC Arab Arbitration Group and served as an ICC appointed arbitrator in multiple cases.

Her energy and contributions will be deeply missed by the arbitration community.
